Calendar of EVENTS

Fieldcrest High School is proud to join the many schools in the HOIC as well as the entire IHSA in having games broadcast on the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) network. All contests at Fieldcrest High School will be broadcast as well as most other HOIC games. A few exceptions include games played at Tri-Valley and Eureka who have alternative programming. For information and to watch the Knights in action, check out: Fieldcrest High School - Minonk, IL (nfhsnetwork.com)

The Heart of Illinois Conference revised and updated the “Spectator Code of Conduct” during the fall semester. Below are the statements that will be read at each HOIC Contest. We appreciate your support!

1. Practice self-control on and off the playing field; remember, your actions have consequences.

2. Represent your school and community to the best of your ability.

3. Display positivity and sportsmanship in victory and defeat.

4. Never single out an athlete or official with criticism.

5. Acknowledge good play.

6. Remember this is the athletes’ game and we are here to have fun!

Scheduling an Appointment with the Counselor - NEW PROCEDURE

In order to facilitate a streamlined and efficient counseling program, the FHS Counseling Department is utilizing www.pickme.com. This web site is an online scheduler that will allow parents and students to book appointments with the counselor to discuss matters in academic, personal and post-secondary categories. This is NOT to be used for emergency/crisis situations (ie. mental health, discipline or other behavior issues). Those situations will be dealt with as they arise. Please book your appointment at least 24 hours in advance so that the counselor can be prepared to meet with you. As always, if it is an emergency the counselor will meet with you as you come in.

Step 1: Go to the following web site https://www.picktime.com/d3cef0dd-99e3-4117-bae5-86bdb04fe617

Step 2: Click on one of the categories that applies to your matter. Once in, you will see three names. You will click on your counselor (Mr. Quinn - freshmen; Mrs. Wilson- sophomores-seniors).

Step 3: You will see a calendar and available times. Times are in 15 minute blocks and you will need to reserve your times. You will have to repeat this for each 15 minute block you reserve.

Step 4: Complete the appointment information, in case we need to cancel, and click Book Appointment.

Step 5: Meet with the counselor as scheduled.

Cell Phone Reminder: Fieldcrest High School is a Cell Phone Free zone during class time. Students are asked to keep phones put away during instructional times, utilizing them ONLY during lunch. Parents are asked to contact the office if you need to speak to your child. Our instructional staff has limited time to work with the students each day. Please ask your student to NOT use their phones while in class. You are reminded that students caught using a phone will have it confiscated, resulting in the possibility of a parent needing to pick it up.

Parking Pass Reminder: Students are reminded that in order to park in the school student parking lot, a pass must be hanging so that it is displayed through your front window. Passes may be purchased in the office. Cars parked without a pass may be towed and/or students driving them may be charged the parking fee. Please purchase your pass this week if you do not have one.

On-Line Clothing: A reminder that you can access the Jostens online store providing the Fieldcrest Fan Community to purchase Knight apparel anytime with orders shipping within 72 hours. Checkout the store on the front page of the school or district website and look for the tab on the left side titled Fieldcrest Clothing Store.

ID's: Wear Your ID!! In a continued effort to improve the safety and security of the school, students are reminded to wear their student ID's during the day. Students WILL NOT be allowed to leave during classes if they do not have one. Please review with your student the importance of practicing this expectation as well as encouraging the follow through of adhering to a school practice. In addition, enforcement of visitor identification and office check-ins are also a major emphasis this year.

- New ID - $1.00 & Lanyard - $1.00

Visitors: Due to Covid only one visitor is allowed in the office. You will be asked screening questions before entering the building . Guests are asked to wear a visitor badge while in the high school. Also, students are expected to wear ID's during the day. Students without ID's will not be allowed to leave class during the period and will be asked to wait at the end of the line for lunch. Support Safety… Wear your ID!
